Lisbeth Sass, 37, of Birmingham, Ala., died Dec. 8, 2007. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Cedar Grove Church in Leeds, Ala. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Leeds, Ala. Visitation will be Thursday at Kilgore Funeral Home, 1651 Ashville Road N.E., Leeds, Ala. Memorials may be directed to the family. Lisbeth A. Sass, daughter of Gay Lou (Ferguson) and Dick L. Lechtenberger, was born June 14, 1970, in Loveland, Colo. She graduated from Briarwood High School in Shelby County, Ala., and attended the University of Alabama Birmingham and Mobile Christian College, in Mobile, Ala. Later, she married Scott Sass in Birmingham. Lisbeth taught in daycares and preschools in the Birmingham area. She was baptized in Glad Tidings Church in Omaha at age 8. She attended church at Brook Hills in Birmingham. Survivors include her parents, Dick and Gay Lou Lechtenberger of Creston; two sons, Dylan and Ryan Sass of Birmingham, Ala.; three brothers, Mike (wife Diana) Lechtenberger of Omaha, Neb., Steve Lechtenberger of Taipei, Taiwan, and Patrick Lechtenberger of Irvine, Calif.; grandmother Gertrude Lechtenberger of Fremont, Neb.; three nephews, Kyle, Chris and Aaron Lechtenberger, and niece, Rachel Lechtenberger. Lisbeth was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry Lechtenberger, George Ferguson and Iola Ferguson Pritchard. Information was provided by Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave.
