Sorry Boy Scouts
Recently, the Boy Scouts of America celebrated their 100th Birthday.
Each year they commemorate the birthday of this great organization and the president of the United States is invited to speak. Barry declined the invitation. He had something more important to do. You know, everyone has their priorities.
He elected to be a guest on “The View,” This is a daytime TV program that has as its main mission to bash conservative American ideals. Whoopi Goldberg is one of the hosts — should be enough said right there. Just when you think he can’t slap America in the face anymore…
A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of visiting Washington, D.C. On my “bucket list” has been to visit “The Wall.” We lost a Club Brother back in March who died from agent orange related problems. I was able to leave his funeral brochure and In Memory Patch at the wall. He was a bronze star recipient and was on Hamburger Hill in Viet Nam.
Our trip was made more enjoyable and convenient with the help of our good friends Jeff and Jeanette Weller who live in Richmond, Va. We rode the motorcycle from Savannah, Ga. to D. C. with a stop in Richmond. We enjoyed a night with them in Richmond. The next morning it was on to Washington D.C.
The downside of this place is all the people and traffic. We were told that D.C. is second in the nation for traffic nightmares right behind L.A. I made a left turn to our hotel in Georgetown and got a few “tips” on my driving techniques from one of D.C.’s “finest.”
I didn’t get a ticket because he showed me “attitude” and I didn’t.
Things we were able to see were; The Wall, Lincoln Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, Washington Monument, Holocaust Museum, the White House, Capital and the National Archives. Got to see the big three documents; Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights.
We were privileged to visit the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and witness the changing of the guard. If this doesn’t make you have goose bumps on the back of your neck, nothing will.
The World War II Memorial was very impressive. People were wading in the water in the middle of the memorial. Disrespectful doesn’t cover it. I left at the suggestion of my wife before I told these individuals what I thought of their behavior. I probably would have risked being arrested if we would have stayed any longer.
It looks like the ACLU and other socialists are going to get their way on the Arizona immigration law. A Clinton appointed (imagine that) judge took all the teeth out of the law proposed by Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer.
Obama and his bunch have won a victory for now.
Speaking of the Clintons, it’s now reported that Bill’s favorable ratings are higher than Barry’s. Maybe Barry could have a fling, that’s always a career enhancement for this crowd! I really believe November will be a bad month for the Dems.
I had the pleasure of talking to the next lieutenant governor of Iowa at the Adair County Fair. Sen. Kim Reynolds is on the ticket with Gov. Terry Branstad.
November should also be a good month for Iowans. It will be great to see conservative values come back to our great state.
Something to think about: If 10 percent is good enough for God, why does the government deserve 50?
