My pastor

I sat quietly after the first “local church” letter from Ms. Jordan; SHAME ON ME! I will not do so after Mr. Bender’s “local church” letter. The local church referred to is My House of Worship and the Pastor referenced is My Pastor. I grew up with a very basic fundamental understanding of religion. It was not until I was introduced to My Pastor, (thank you Jack), and started attending services and classes that I took the time to read the entire Bible and try to understand it. Someone that grew up in the church should know that the Bible instructs us to pray for those in authority over us, this includes our chosen pastor.

Mr. Bender, if you are not happy with your Pastor’s actions, maybe you should pray for God’s guidance and enlightenment for him. The Bible also gives us strict guidelines to follow when we feel a brother or sister is doing wrong. It seems to me, by confronting you, the spiritual music leader was acting according to biblical instruction. I would suggest that if you feel wronged by the LADY in charge of the sound booth, you should deal with her by following the instructions found in the Bible.

The U.S. Constitution and more specifically The Bill of Rights grants us the RIGHT to worship free from persecution. God gave man the ability to CHOOSE. If you are not happy worshiping where you do or if you are not happy with the actions of the pastor of the church you are worshiping in, then you should definitely choose a different place to worship and a different pastor to follow. The spirit of offense will divide a church quickly and a divided church cannot stand.

I thank God for placing the right person in my path, at the right time in my life, that introduced me to My Pastor. It scares me when I think what my life might be like today without My Pastor’s prayers, instruction and teaching, and guidance, both spiritual and secular. And, even though sadly, My Pastor will soon be retiring, I know that if I need him, he will be there fore me. My Pastor is just that sort of man. My Pastor has celebrated with me during the happy times in my life and consoled me during the sad and difficult times in my life. And, through it all, by his words and his example, he has helped me to become a better person and a better Christian. Thank you Pastor Jim, I will be eternally grateful. You have had a positive influence on many, many lives; mine included.
