No citations were issued after an accident 5:02 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Elm and Adams streets.

According to a Creston police report, Michael Patrick Carroll, 54, 206 S. Chestnut St., driving a 1992 Pontiac south on Elm, attempted to stop for the intersection’s traffic signal, but his brakes went to the floor and he was unable to stop. Carroll’s vehicle struck a 1998 Pontiac driven east on Adams by Michael Garcia Camacho, 18, of Mount Ayr, who had stopped at the intersection’s stop light and proceeded into the intersection.

Damage estimates are $2,000 to Carroll’s vehicle and $2,500 to Camacho’s vehicle.
