Mount Ayr harriers open at Wayne

CORYDON — The Mount Ayr cross country teams opened the season at a rainy Wayne Invitational here Thursday night.

In the boys race, Christian Overholtzer paced the Raiders with a 24th-place effort of 20:23. Taylor Richie was next for the team with a 36th-place time of 21:17.

Becca Gregg had the top finish for the Raiderettes. She placed 34th in 18-minutes 50-seconds. Hannah Fletchall was next on the squad, with a 43rd-place clocking of 19:55.

The girls finished eighth with 229 points. The boys team scores were not available due to an error with runner place cards.
