A new clerk of court was named in Union County Tuesday morning.
Allison Danilovich, former judicial clerk in Union County, was promoted to clerk of court by Arthur Gamble, chief judge for the fifth judicial district, pending the successful completion of a course of education and training through the Iowa Department of Administrative services.
“I was asked if I’d consider the position,” Danilovich said, “and the time was right to apply. There may be a few more responsibilties here and there, but since Marsha (Parsons) left, I’ve been handling a lot of the clerk’s responsibilities anyway.”
Danilovich succeeds Melynda Crawford, who resigned officially Oct. 27. Crawford had been the clerk of court in Union County since March 8. She was hired to replace Marsha Parsons, who retired after holding the position since January 1989.
