Car hits natural gas meter

A 1995 Chevy Blazer driven by Tiffany Kilgore, 28, no address available, struck a natural gas meter 5:27 p.m. Monday in the alley behind 205 E. Mills St.

According to a Creston fire report, firefighters were called for a natural-gas leak and had to evacuate 203 and 205 E. Mills St. They set up a perimeter at the scene of the leak until Alliant Energy could make repairs to stop the gas leak.

The leak was shut down 6:15 p.m.

The vehicle driven by Kilgore is registered to Justin Hodge, 203 E. Mills St. No damage estimates were available.
