During a public hearing with GGI Energy officials via Skype Wednesday, about 40 city and county officials and local residents gathered to ask questions and voice concerns regarding the possible construction of a waste-to-energy plant east of Creston near Prairie Solid Waste Agency.

The best option is to let GGI use its own money to build this $12 million facility in Creston. It will create 30-plus local jobs and create a more affordable and green way of disposing of our trash. It's not a "no-brainer," but if the proper steps are taken this could be a nice addition to our community.
