The rest of the evening was spent on the chapter project. Cloth bags made by several members were filled with various items a new teacher could utilize in her classroom. Some items were purchased with approximately half of the grant money received from the Upsilon State for the project. The rest of the grant money will be used for a similar project next year. The rest of the items and the material were donated by the members. A total of 24 bags will be distributed to new female teachers in the Winterset, Earlham, Orient-Macksburg and Nodaway Valley school districts.

The next meeting will be 6:15 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Olive Branch restaurant in Greenfield. After the meal, members will tour Greenfield Opera House.

DWF Executive Committee

DWF Executive Committee met 10 a.m. Sept. 6 at the First Christian Church with eight
members present. The meeting opened with the DWF prayer. The treasurer's report was given by Margaret Wilkins. The minutes were read and approved. Rhonda Vogel made a motion to pay the bills, seconded by Irene. Approved.

In old business: Wilkins and Vogel helped with the backpacks at the Presbyterian Church. Joyce Burkhead has been appointed co-chairperseon for funeral dinners. Vogel asked about finding a used computer for the library. The books for the coming circle meetings will be paid for by the DWF. Midge made a motion to give the
Ministerial Alliance $500, seconded by Margaret. Approved.

In new business: Coffee fellowship has been moved to Sept. 23 with a ham/bean dinner. Mary Circle will furnish the salads, and Rebecca Circle will bring bars. Pam will bring the corn bread. There will be a potluck for the missionaries Sept. 19. Vogel made a motion to give $100 to Caroline Nelson's grandson for his mission trip, seconded by Irene. Approved.

An invitation to Platte Center Church was received. The program will be 2 p.m. Sept. 28. They would like to have reservations by Sept. 21.

The next meeting will be a salad luncheon. Mary Circle will be in charge of the luncheon.

The meeting closed with the DWF benediction.
