John David Foster, 27, 121 W. Montgomery St., was charged 2 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of N. Pine St., on a Union County warrant for violation of a protective order.

According to a Creston Police report, officers received a report 11:51 p.m. Sept. 16 of Foster being at the residence of Lisa Austin, 503 1/2 N. Elm St., and that there was a protection order between them. Officers confirmed there to be an active protection order between Foster and Austin. After arriving at Austin's residence, officers asked if Foster was inside her home and she stated no. Officers then asked for consent to search the residence for Foster, and Austin denied the request. Austin then stated Foster had run out the back door as officers were knocking on the front door, confirming that at some point, Foster was at the residence placing him in violation of the protection order.

Foster was released on his own recognizance.
