Spartans take two wins at home

Southwestern Community College’s volleyball team got back on the winning track at home Monday, defeating Graceland JV 20-25, 26-24, 15-10 before sweeping Waldorf College JV, 25-17, 25-10, 25-9.

After losing the first set against Graceland, the Spartans (16-7) never dropped another one.

“We started off kind of slow,” coach Melissa Blessington said. “We had a few days off from our last match (conference loss to Iowa Central) and we just needed to get ourselves back in competition mode. It was good to see the team battle back for the win.”
