From Janel McLain
Community support for Dog Gone Rescue has been absolutely wonderful, and I wanted to acknowledge those that have made a difference to my rescue, as I couldn’t help these animals without you.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to people that have donated money in my jars, money to me personally, and pet items they are no longer using; not to mention the silent generosity of the local businesses, who I think need to be acknowledged, as well.
Hy-Vee and Casey’s General Stores have been great in providing a place to put my flyers and donation jars, food and gift cards for fundraisers and much needed dog/cat food and cat litter. Hy-Vee also has been kind enough to help raise awareness about the dangerous risks of leaving your pets in parked vehicles, especially during times of extreme heat.
Akin Building Center is another business that has helped my rescue quite a bit. They’ve been good enough to donate paint and lumber for me to build dog houses and provide them to dogs in need.
People in the community and these businesses have shown me remarkable generosity, and I really appreciate that.
Dog Gone Rescue has been around for a year and a-half, and to date, the rescue has been able to adopt 26 pets to loving, permanent homes. We’ve also donated 23 handmade dog houses to dogs in need. It really feels good to make a difference, not only in our community, but surrounding counties, as well. Every donation we receive, no matter how small, helps keep Dog Gone Rescue going; I am so thankful I live amongst such wonderful and supportive people.
