Four charged after drug bust in Mount Ayr

Eduardo Mondragon-Sanchez, 33, Maria Del Rosario Tress Brito, 39, and Noel Mondragon, 34, all of Mount Ayr and Jose Silvano Garfias-Arreola, 21, of Cranfordville, Ind., were arrested on multiple charges between Sept. 24 and 25.

According to a Ringgold County Sheriff's office press release, a deputy made a traffic stop and with the assistance of the K-9 unit, led to two arrests Sept. 24. Garfias-Arreola and Mondragon-Sanchez were both charged with conspiracy to manufacture a schedule one controlled substance (marijuana), a Class B Felony, and possession of a schedule one controlled substance (marijuana), a serious misdemeanor.

Both have bonds set at $101,000 and have immigration customs enforcement detainers on them.

On Sept. 25, a search warrant was executed at 2236 Highway 169 in Mount Ayr, which led to the arrests of Brito and Mondragon. Both Brito and Mondragon are charged with conspiracy to manufacture a schedule one controlled substance (marijuana), a Class B Felony, possession with intent to deliver a schedule one controlled substance (marijuana), a Class D Felony, and failure to affix a drug tax stamp schedule two controlled substance (marijuana), a Class D Felony.

Both have bonds set at $110,000 and have immigration customs enforcement detainers on them.

The Ringgold County Sheriff's office, along with Tri-County Narcotics, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Adams County Sheriff's office, K-9 unit and Iowa Department of Natural Resources investigated the case.
