The Southern Prairie YMCA is back on its feet as renovations to the building caused by April’s EF2 tornado are nearing completion.

The cardio room, weight room, track and gym are now available. Fitness classes are back at the Y and being conducted on the new synthetic gym floor. YMCA staff said a new group fitness class schedule will start Nov. 4.

The dehumidification unit for the pool has arrived and crews have been working on installation. The pool is full of water, but it may still take until November for the pool to be available to members. A new swimsuit dryer has also been installed in the hallway of the family locker room area.
