Billie Johnson, 81, of Creston, died Oct. 2, 2012, at Crest Haven Care Centre.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 25 and 34. The Rev. Dan Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 7 p.m. Friday with family present 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Billie Marie Johnson, daughter of Pearl Jeneva (Wert) and Samuel Loman Gardner, was born July 17, 1931, in Villisca.
Billie was educated in Villisca Schools.
On Sept. 21, 1948, Billie married Bill Johnson in Red Oak. They first lived in the Villisca area. They later moved to New Market and Des Moines before moving to Creston in 1968, where she worked as a punch press operator for Gits Manufacturing.
Billie is survived by her daughter Cathy (husband Harold) Holliday of Creston; son Mike (wife Marjorie) Johnson of Green Ridge, Mo.; grandchildren, Jenny Thompson, Trent (wife Tarrah) Holliday, Shelene (husband Ryan) Kelley, Brent (wife Michelle) Johnson, Sara (husband Sean) Miller, Tyler (wife Priscella) Johnson, Michael “Bub” Johnson, Lisa Morgan and Allen (wife Leslie) Johnson; 21 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; dog Joey and many friends.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1995; son Larry in 2002 and sister Helen Boelling.
