Juan Carlos Zamora, 30, 211 N. Chestnut St., was charged 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at his residence for domestic abuse assault and child endangerment.

According to a Creston Police report, officers were dispatched to 211 N. Chestnut St., after the dispatcher received a call from a young boy stating his dad was being violent. Upon arrival, officers were met at the door by an 8-year-old who advised officers his dad was fighting with his mom. Officers located the wife in the back bedroom. She was covered with blood and indicated her husband, Zamora, struck her in the face with his hand. The wife also stated Zamora threatened to throw a 2-month-old child out the door. The 8-year-old advised officers his dad did strike him in the face after he determined his son called the police. Officers attempted to talk with Zamora, but he was uncooperative. Zamora was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center.
