The Winterset Stage premieres children’s theatre

WINTERSET — Beginning February 2013, The Winterset Stage will premiere their children’s theatre program.

Developed for first through eighth graders, this 10-week performance-based course will be offered Tuesday and Thursday evenings and is designed to provide young artists an opportunity to act in an original production. Students will learn stage directions and movement, how to develop a character and the procedure of auditioning and rehearsing a play. Grades first through third will produce Chicken Little and grades fourth through eighth will produce Stone Soup.

Veronica Dumas-Wines, a professional actor, teacher and director, will be the lead teacher of The Winterset Stage’s Children’s Theatre.
