LENOX — Orient-Macksburg picked up a 25-23, 25-13, 25-23 victory over Lenox here on Thursday, improving the Bulldogs to 5-8 for the season.

Jasmine Ruckman finished with a team-high 10 kills while Gabby Jenkins added eight to go along with three blocks.

Tara Guion served 20-for-20 with one ace for the Bulldogs, and picked up 14 assists. Sarah Albee added 13 assists. Chrystal Patten led the team with eight digs.

“We played very good,” head coach Dan McKinney said. “They were hard to put away. We got behind would battle our way back to lead.”

For Lenox, Aurora Arevalo collected six kills, two assists, seven digs, one solo block and one ace on 7-10 serving. Katie Dukes led the team with seven kills and three blocks.

Hannah Maxa added five kills with two aces on 14-14 serving and a team-high 11 digs. Madison Douglas had six assists and nine digs to go along with one ace and one kill.

Bailey Schmitz had a team-high eight assists.

Mount Ayr Quad

MOUNT AYR — Corning went 1-2 with a win over Mount Ayr, which finished 0-3, here Thursday at the Mount Ayr Quad. Clarinda and Treynor also competed in the quad.

Marie Palmer led Corning in the Red Raiders’ loss to Clarinda with five kills, six digs and one block with one ace on 8-of-9 serving. Sydney Maynes added three kills and two digs.

Caitlyn Damewood finished with nine assists.

In a loss to Treynor, Ella Akin finished with five kills, two blocks and seven digs while serving 7-7 with one ace. Palmer added four kills. Taylor Damewood had seven assists.

Palmer once again led the team in kills against Mount Ayr with five and collected four aces on 15-16 serving, while Akin added four kills and a team-high five blocks. Maynes had two kills and two blocks.

Caitlyn Damewood finished with 12 assists and two aces on 15-15 serving. Kelsie Kinman had three aces on 10-12 serving.

For Mount Ayr in the match, Paige Daughton and Madi Hosfield each finished with six kills, while Caitlin Giles added four and Leah Klejch finished with three. Giles added seven assists while Shelbie Green finished with six and Maggie Jennett had four.

In a loss to Treynor, Giles finished with a team-high three kills and five assists. Daughton had two blocks.

Against Clarinda, Hosfield and Greene each finished with three kills, while Jennett had a team-high three assists.
