George Bothell Prescott
George Bothell, 92, of rural Prescott died Oct. 7, 2012, at his home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Carl United Methodist Church. The Rev. Lauri Greenlee will officiate. Interment will be in Carl Cemetery with military honors conducted by Williamson American Legion Post No. 719. Open visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today with family present 6 to 8 p.m. at Pearson Family Funeral Service, 701 Seventh St., Corning. Memorials may be directed to Prescott Volunteer Fire Department. George Olin Bothell, son of Pearl Elizabeth (Johnston) and Robert N. Bothell, was born July 24, 1920, in Adams County near Prescott.
George attended country school in Adams County and Prescott High School until he entered into the Coast Guard where he served during WWII.
After his discharge, George started a life of farming that lasted nearly 70 years raising sheep, cattle, hogs, chickens and milk cows, in addition to his row crops.
On March 25, 1956, George married Lois Darlene Eigenheer on a farm near Lenox.
George was a member of the American Legion in Prescott and Masonic Lodge in Prescott.
George is survived by his daughters, Roberta (Charles) Hribal of Orient and Stacey (Chuck) Truman of Prescott; grandsons, Nathan (Alicia) Truman, Alex Truman (girlfriend Lindsey Grau), Andrew Hribal and Izak Hribal; great-grandsons, Brayden and Brody Truman; brothers-in-law, Jack Refer of Lenox, Alfred Nicholson of Lenox and Duane Eigenheer of Norwalk; sisters-in-law, Ila Lincoln of Osage, Bonnie Kirk of Adel and Noretta Eigenheer of Norwalk; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
George was preceded in death by his parents; wife in 1993; brother-in-law Tom Lincoln; and sisters-in-law, June Nicholson and Betty Refer.
