Raymond Cottrell, 85, of Creston died Oct. 8, 2012, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Raymond Leonard Cottrell, son of Lola Berniece (Woods) and Dewey Vinton Cottrell, was born Sept. 9, 1927, in Osceola. Raymond was raised on a farm near Osceola. The family moved to several farms near Diagonal, Murray and eventually moved to Creston. Raymond attended country schools in Clark and Ringgold counties.
