Alyssa Lorraine Kuonen, 5-day-old daugther of Christopher and Ashley Kuonen of De Soto, was born Oct. 4, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Alyssa was born with a rare heart defect known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and Right Aortic Arch with an aberrant left sub-clavian artery. She died Oct. 9, 2012.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at the United Methodist Church in Mount Ayr. The Rev. Skip Rushing will officiate. A private family burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr. Visitation with the family present will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. Alyssa is survived by her parents Christopher and Ashley Kuonen of De Soto; 6-year-old sister Addison Kay Kuonen and 4-year-old brother Connor Jay Kuonen; grandparents, Tim and Lesa Saville of Delphos, Ken Reynolds of Des Moines, Jay and Lori Greif of De Soto and Cory Kuonen of Creston; great-grandparents, John and Juanita Sickels, Norma Sickels, Dorothy Reynolds and Dorothy Saville, all of Mount Ayr; uncle Joe Saville and cousins, Chloe, Brodie and Silas Saville; uncle Garrett Reynolds; aunt Megan Fitzgerald and cousin Tenley; uncle Ryan Fitzgerald; aunt Dakotah Reynolds and cousin Mia; aunts, Hannah Saville and Cheyanne Reynolds; uncle Ben Saville and aunts, Ashley Nicole Kuonen and Aunt Jessica Foltz; extended family and many family friends.
