The South Central Iowa Area Partnership and University of Northern Iowa MyEntreNet are conducting a regional grant contest for area entrepreneurs. Five out of 14 contest entries are from Union County, and they need community support for a chance to win $5,000.

Go to www.dreambiggrowhere.com and click on Union County. It will take you to the regional contest. Click vote and scroll down to review each business. Vote for all five Union County entries. People can vote once a day every day for each business. Voting ends 6 p.m. Oct. 19. The top five businesses that receive the most votes will be invited to the regional pitch off on Nov. 2 at Lakeside Casino in Osceola. The regional winner will then go on to the state contest for a chance to win an additional $10,000.

Union County entries include: Adams Street Espresso & Soda Shoppe – Stacey Ray; Sumner Lesson Studios – Dustin Baird; Taste of Italy – Frank and Whitney Nuraco; Upper Crust Culinary Creations – Cynthia Wolfe and Christy Whited; and Winterstien Construction – Melissa Driskell.
