Rated Bears serve up a sweep

When passing off the serve isn’t sharp, a volleyball team struggles to generate an effective offense.

That was the demise of the Southwestern Spartans at home Wednesday night, as No. 12-rated DMACC swept the Spartans 25-15, 25-19, 25-18.

The first set was even at 9-9, and still close at 14-12 when Alex Duffy blocked a DMACC attack. But, from there, the Bears went on an 11-3 run to close out the set. It was more of the same in sets two and three.
