Matthew Tyler Rehmeyer, 19, of Afton, was issued citations for failure to have a valid license and failure to prove security after a single-vehicle accident 6 a.m. Saturday on Twelve Mile Lake Road.

According to a Union County Sheriff’s report, a report was made of a 1999 Chevrolet in the ditch next to 1394 Twelve Mile Lake Road. The driver, Rehmeyer, was not sure how long he was in the ditch. He advised he swerved to miss a deer. Rehmeyer was northbound on Twelve Mile Lake Road when he lost control, went into the west ditch and struck a tree. Rehmeyer was transported by ambulance to Greater Regional Medical Center where his condition is unavailable. Additional charges are pending upon results of chemical testing.

Damage estimate is $5,000 to Rehmeyer’s vehicle.
