Alissa Jill Jennings, 40, 613 N. Elm St., was charged 9:03 a.m. Friday at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on a Union County warrant for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
According to a Creston Police report, at 3:31 p.m. Sept. 15, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Elm and Prairie streets for a vehicle that had hit the church at the intersection. Officers arrived on scene and noticed a red Ford pickup against the west side of the church. Officers identified the driver as Jennings, and she admitted to driving the pickup. Officers noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her person, bloodshot, watery eyes and slurred speech. Jennings was also having trouble with her balance. Medics were called to the scene, and an officer went with Jennings in an ambulance to Greater Regional Medical Center for further evaluation. While at Greater Regional Medical Center, Jennings denied performing standardized field sobriety testing but admitted she had been drinking. Jennings consented a sample of her blood for testing, and it was sent to the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation lab for testing. Officers received a report from the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation Tuesday showing Jennings had a blood alcohol content of .306. Jennings was previously issued citations for failure to maintain control and public intoxication after the accident.
Jennings was released on $1,000 bond,

Bruce Luverne Anderson, 60, 217 N. Maple St., was charged 2:29 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of North Pine Street for public intoxication.
According to a Creston Police report, officers observed Anderson in the 100 block of North Pine Street attempting to get into his pickup. Anderson appeared to be very intoxicated, and the officer gave him a ride home. At 2:28 a.m., the officer found the defendant lying on the sidewalk in the 100 block of South Elm Street. Anderson was still very intoxicated and had fallen down. The officer transported Anderson to the Union County Law Enforcement Center, and Anderson refused a breath test. Anderson advised officers that he was very intoxicated.
Anderson was released on his own recognizance.

Brian Keith Andre Whitfield, 32, 306 W. Adams St., was charged 1 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Birch and Howard streets for driving while barred.
According to a Creston Police report, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver was identified as Whitfield by an Iowa driver’s license. Officers checked the status of Whitfield’s driver’s license through dispatch, and dispatch advised Whitfield’s license was under the status of barred. Officers reapproached and advised Whitfield that his license was barred. Whitfield was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center.
Whitfield was released on $2,000 bond.

Cassandra Jo Larkin, 301 W. Montgomery St., reported the front door of her apartment was kicked in, and $40 cash was taken between 12:30 and 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
