No citations were issued after an accident 2:12 p.m. Monday on Highway 34.

According to a Union County Sheriff’s report, Daniel Ray Martwick, 27, of Thornton, Colo., driving a 2008 Dodge, and Adam Michael Roan, 29, of Afton, driving a 2000 Ford, were both eastbound on Highway 34 and stopped in a line of traffic for road construction. The line started to move, Roan dropped a cigarette and looked down. The line slowed or stopped, and Roan struck Martwick’s vehicle in the rear.

Damage estimates are $2,500 to Martwick’s vehicle and $500 to Roan’s vehicle.
