What about the bride?
From Jacqueline Hartman
Okay, I've held off long enough. In your people section, you have two wedding announcements. What's missing from this picture? The name of the bride. I shouldn't have to look in the body of the announcement to find her name.
Instead of saying (example) "Mr. & Mrs. John Jones" under the photo, I have two thoughts – one, what is her name; and two, I guess her name is John, also.
I'm sorry, but this smacks of making the bride an "also ran" of the story, instead of part of the main story.
I've noticed that the Des Moines Register doesn't do this, and I suspect other papers don't either.
This is so twentieth century, making the bride seem an afterthought.
I would be extremely offended if you did this with my wedding announcement.
Please, please, please come into the twenty-first century.
