Ladies Lakeshore Auxiliary

Ladies Lakeshore Auxiliary met Oct. 17.

Canasta winners were Maxine May, first; Janet Kessler, second; and Gwen Sandeman, third.

Barb Bills won the door prize.

Bills hosted cards and chatter Wednesday.

Chapter LG P.E.O.

Chapter LG met Oct. 16 at the home of Terry Ammon with Kay Ritter and Julie Christensen as co-hostesses. Thirteen members responded to roll call.

Dianne Huffman presented the program using resources from the P.E.O. website. She presented a “hot topic,” “Spider Web,” which involved input from all of the members. Each shared memorable and meaningful events from life that enable individuals to know and appreciate each other more.

The November birthday luncheon will be Nov. 6 at Kelly’s Garden Cafe. Nov. 13 will be the annual auction at Salem Lutheran Church with Kay Ritter, Denise Kuhl and Julie Christensen as co-hostesses.

Delta Kappa Gamma International

Eleven members of PI Chapter attended the Oct. 8 meeting at Corning Opera House. Dee Heaton gave an informative tour, discussing the renovation process and sharing upcoming activities. The meeting and meal followed at Breadaux Pizza.

President Joan Lienneman called the meeting to order.

The September minutes were read and approved with the correction of Angela Pratt as state president.

The treasurer’s report was given by Kim Riley. All expenses are current.

Correspondence: none at this time.

Old business: PI Chapter is in charge of providing decorations and napkins for the president’s visit. Delta Kappa Gamma International is supporting early-career educators and building schools in Africa.

New Business:

• Roxie Swartz is the area six coordinator and would like to visit the chapter sometime.

• Member Deb Fischer, CHS vocal instructor, and students will be presenting “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” at Creston High School Nov. 9, 10, and 11.

• The next meeting will be Nov. 12 at Lincoln School, the proposed site of Gibson Memorial Library. The meal will follow at the home of Sandy Harris prepared by the Panther culinary students. There will be a white elephant sale.

Lincoln Neighbors Club

Lincoln Neighbors Club met Oct. 10 at Jerusalem Church with Linda Bailey as hostess. President Phyllis called the meeting to order. Linda read “Stay Involved.”
