Teddy Weston Grant

Teddy J. Weston, 79, of Grant died Oct. 14, 2012, at Cass County Health Center in Atlantic.

Funeral services were Friday, Oct. 19, at Grant United Methodist Church. Burial was in Grant Cemetery. Wolfe Funeral Home, 201 E. Fourth St., Villisca, was in charge of arrangements.

Teddy Junior Weston, son of Goldie May (Westover) and George Terry Weston, was born March 22, 1933, in Grant.

Teddy attended school in Grant and graduated from Griswold High School.

Teddy joined the Iowa National Guard after high school.

On Sept. 9, 1951, Teddy married Donna Glee Hensel. They lived in Grant all of their married life.

Teddy ran his own construction business, Weston Construction, which specialized in dirt moving with a caterpillar. He drove a truck part time over the years, as well as working at RoMac and Walmart, where he was a greeter and assembled bicycles.

Teddy served as president of Grant Community Preservationist Group and worked to restore the Masonic Lodge.

Teddy is survived by his children, Robert (Georgia) Weston of Edgewood, N.M., Roxanna (Gail) Peterson of Creston, Rebecca (David) Westover of Grant, Teresa Knudson of Grant, George (Laura) Weston of Elliott and Cynthia (Wallace) Harvey of Topeka, Kan.; grandchildren, Robert Weston, Wennifer Duskus, Juliette Weston, Jeremie Peterson, Jodie Heinemann, Jesse, Jude and Callie Westover, Nathan Knudson, Colby, Jebediah, Madeleine and Gwendolyn Weston, Jennifer Eblen, Tiffany Murchison and Jessica Cooper; 28 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Peggy Weston of Grant and Jacky (Bob) Samuelson of Clarinda; brother-in-law Robert (Doris Jean) Hensel of Atlantic; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Teddy was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and siblings, Mick and Walt Weston, Betty Meyers, Billie Ann Foote and Savilla Gebhart.
