Accident
No citations were issued after a single-vehicle accident 4:05 p.m. Tuesday on Cherry Street Road.
According to a Union County Sheriff’s report, Brian Leigh Ellis, 55, of West Des Moines, driving a 2006 Saturn north on Cherry Street Road, passed a noncontact vehicle, merged back into northbound traffic, then he lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle came to rest in the west ditch.
Damage estimate is $8,000 to Ellis’ vehicle.
