Paul E. Conaway Creston

Paul E. Conaway, 79, of Creston died Oct. 22, 2012, at his home.

Paul’s wishes were to be cremated, and no services are planned at this time. A graveside service will be held in the summer of 2013 at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines. McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines is in charge of arrangements. Pearson Family Funeral Service of Creston was in charge of local arrangements. Memorials may be directed to Boy Scout Troup 129 in care of Dave Jennett, 1430 150th St., Creston, IA 50801.

Paul E. Conaway, son of Ruth (Yeisley) and Frielie Conaway, was born June 26, 1933, in Philadelphia, Pa.

On June 6, 1954, Paul married Ellen Diebel, and later that year graduated from the University of Dubuque.

Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps for two years and a field worker for Southern California Gas Company for 30 years.

He spent many hours volunteering at the San Diego Star of India, 18 years with Boy Scouts of America Troup One in California and was a member of Southwest Iowa Shutterbug Camera Club of Creston.

Paul is survived by his wife Ellen Conaway of Creston; sister Betty Bunch of California; nephew Steven (Ann) Bunch of New York and their son Aedan; brother David (Martha) Conaway of Georgia; sons, David (Choe) Conaway of Colorado and John (Karen) Conaway of California; daughter Sandra (Paul) Carroll of Washington; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
