Erik Charles Mullen, 24, of Lenox, was charged 2:10 p.m. Thursday at 802 N. Cherry St. for domestic abuse assault.

According to a Creston Police report, the Creston Police Department responded to a 911 call from a female at 802 N. Cherry St. Upon arrival, officers observed both parties present had visible marks consistent with a physical altercation. Both parties stated they had been fighting. The female stated she was thrown against the wall repeatedly and held down on the floor by Mullen. She stated Mullen held her down by her arms and choked her around the throat until she could not breath. Mullen is of much larger stature than the female and was considered the predominate aggressor in the altercation.

Mullen is being held without bond.
