Harold Drake Sebring, Fla.

Harold Wayne Drake, 78, of Sebring, Fla., died unexpectedly Oct. 24, 2012, at his home in Sebring, Fla.

Memorial services were 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home Chapel, Sebring, Fla., with a noon service at the Eagles Club in Sebring.

Harold Wayne Drake, son of Velma (Hailey) and Loren Drake, was born March 23, 1934, in Kellerton.

Harold attended elementary schools in that area and graduated from Arispe High School.

He played the trumpet as the leader of his bands in southwest Iowa for many years.

Harold made a living as a shoe-store salesman and manager and then later as a small-business owner. He owned and operated several different shoe stores in Iowa and Florida, including Lloyd’s Shoes in Sebring.

Harold was a member of Sebring Eagles Club, Amvets, American Legion and VFW Men’s Auxiliary.

Harold is survived by his son Michael of Castle Pines, Colo.; daughters, Deborah Bohn and Pamela (Bobby) Wyatt, all of Naples, Fla.; three grandsons; three granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; sister Juanita (Donald) Clause and brothers, Lloyd (Kay) Drake and Tom (Barb) Drake.
