Jeremy Joseph Seddon, 31, 500 N. Walnut St., was charged 3:41 p.m. Saturday at the Union County Law Enforcement Center for fifth-degree theft.

According to a Creston Police report, at 11:05 a.m. Friday, Seddon entered Walmart Supercenter, 806 Laurel St., and concealed a Sony Blue DVD player and 6-foot cable cord in his clothes, left the store by the automotive department and did not pay for the items. At 3:26 p.m. Saturday Seddon went to the Union County Law Enforcement Center where he was interviewed about the incident. During this time, Seddon admitted to an officer he had taken the items, values at $92.96, without paying for them.

Seddon was issued a police citation to appear.


Troy C. Dames, 29, 102 N. Sycamore St., was charged 7:41 p.m. Friday at his residence for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

According to a Creston Police report, at 6:56 p.m. Friday, officers were dispatched to 102 N. Sycamore St. for a burglary report. Officers met with two residents, Dames and Kelly Schives. Schives reported he came home, found his door kicked in and saw Josh Jones inside coming up the stairs. Dames and Schives reported nothing was stolen. The officer requested a consent search and both residents gave verbal consent. The officer entered a room later identified to belong to Dames. There was a strong odor of marijuana coming from the closet. Inside of the closet several packaging items were strewn about. The items included two boxes shipped via Fed Ex from California, an empty heat scale, a bag containing 10 individual bags containing marijuana with a total weight of approximately one-half pound and special glass container designed to conceal odor. Dames made post-Miranda statements which identified the room, closet, packaging materials and boxes to be his.

Dames was released on $5,000 bond.


John David Kingery, of Corning, reported a 1966 Golden Falcon bumper hitch camper was taken from 411 N. Jarvis St. between noon Oct. 6 and noon Saturday.

Estimates loss is $1,000.


Matthew Shackelford, 308 N. Vine St., reported his Genesis mountain bike was taken from his residence between 8:30 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday.

Estimated loss is $210.
