Anita Searby Coon Rapids

Anita Sophia Searby, (Harvey) of Coon Rapids, Ia. led a blessed life up until the age of seventy two when she went home to be with her savior on October 29, 2012.

Anita Searby, was born July 1, 1952, to Clarence C. Harvey and Sophia Orth Harvey in Creston, Ia.

James Searby and Anita Harvey were joined in marriage on November 21, 1959, at the “Hill of Zion” church. To this union two children were born by the names of Robert Searly, and Teresa Royer.

In her younger days, she enjoyed traveling visiting places such as Mnt. Rushmore in South Dakota. Anita lived in Creston from 1974 until 2009 eventually moving into the “Thomas Rest Haven” located in Coon Rapids.

Anita enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. A devout Christian who attended church regularly and practiced her faith by reading the bible and singing hymns. Evidence of her faith showed as she persevered through many health problems.

She enjoyed nature, she loved going for rides, watching deer as she picnicked in the country she loved so much, perhaps lingering a bit longer to view the sunset. Known for living a simple life, content with what God have gave her, she lived a life of love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Faye Reed, brother Herman Harvey, as well as granddaughter Kendra Fender.

Anita is survived by brothers Paul Harvey of Orient, Ia, Darrell (Red) Harvey of Manning, Ia, sister Helen Reeves of Creston, Ia, son Robert (Donna) Searby of Indianapolis, In, and daughter (Dan) Teresa Royer of Coon Rapid, Ia. Leaving behind four beautiful grandchildren, Casey Searby, from Windsor Heights, Alicia (Bryan) Trogddon of West Des Moines, Steven Searby of Indianapolis, In. and Houston Royer of Coon Rapids. She is also survived by her three loving great grandchildren, Makayla, Elizabeth, and Brittany Small of West Des Moines.

Funeral services are 10:00 AM Friday November 2, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Guthrie Center. Visitation will be Thursday November 1, 2012 from 6 to 8:00 PM at the First Baptist Church. Twigg funeral home is handling the funeral arrangements for the Searby family.
