Mae Sheets Clearfield

Mae Sheets, 85, of Clearfield, formerly of Creston, died Oct. 30, 2012, at Clearview Nursing Home in Clearfield.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St., Creston. Mary O’Riley will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church. Leora Mae Sheets, daughter of Gladys (Metters) and Timothy Bailey, was born May 25, 1927, in Clearfield.

Mae graduated from Clearfield High School.

On Aug. 27, 1946, Mae married Merle Guy Sheets in Troy, Kan.

Mae was a lifelong resident of Creston, but entered the nursing home in March 2010 because of declining health.

Mae was involved in the construction business, “Sheets Bros Construction,” which her husband Merle “Skeeter” and brother-in-law Robert owned. She worked for many years at The Windrow Restaurant and was a member of the First Christian Church.

Mae is survived by her son Tim and daughter-in-law Connie Sheets of Las Vegas, Nev.; granddaughter Tracey Schafer of Norwalk; grandson, Darrin (wife Kim) Sheets of Las Vegas, Nev.; great-grandson Drew Schafer of Norwalk; sister-in-law Helen Sheets of Creston; and several nieces and nephews.

Mae was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Richard and Bill Bailey; sister Vernell Posten; and brother-in-law Robert Sheets.
