Mangrum, Schimp earn all-region honors
Spartans sign strong recruit
Two Southwestern Community College freshmen volleyball players earned second team All-Region XI honors.
Mel Mangrum, a freshman middle hitter from Rock Island, Ill. finished the season with 274 kills and a hitting efficiency of .344. She also had 94 blocks for the season.
Molly Schimp, a freshman setter from Hampton who will also compete for the Southwestern track and field team, finished with 1,023 assists this season for an average of just more than eight assists per match. Schimp also had 124 kills, 40 blocks and 238 digs, proving to be a strong all-around player for the Spartans.
