Mustangs charge back to the Dome

Murray outscores revenge-minded A-C, 60-43

MURRAY — Murray quarterback Austin Halls rushed for 381 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Mustangs to a 60-43 Eight-Man quarterfinal victory over Adair-Casey in front of an overflow crowd of 1,080 Friday night.

Halls scored on touchdowns of 50, 65, 36, 65 and 35 yards for the Mustangs. Halls connected with Cody Scroggie for an 18-yard touchdown pass on a fourth-and-16 play with 19 seconds left in the second quarter to give the Mustangs a 28-23 halftime advantage.

Halls’ 36-yard TD scamper early in the third quarter opened up a 36-23 lead, which proved too much for the Bombers to overcome in this offensive-minded contest. (The teams combined for 1,016 total yards.)
