Exira-EHK wins on late field goal

Murray joins a field of three other undefeated Eight-Man teams in the semifinals this week, but it took a 20-yard field goal with 0.7 seconds left by sophomore Zach Kliefoth to lift the Spartans over Glidden-Ralston, 39-36.

Exira/Elk Horn-Kimballton (12-0) trailed 30-7 late in the third quarter before mounting the comeback. Drew Peppers ran for 190 yards on 29 carries with four touchdowns for Exira-EHK.

Don Bosco 42, Clarksville 6

GILBERTVILLE — Third-ranked Don Bosco of Gilbertville (11-0) knocked off Clarksville (10-2) for the second time this year, and tied its best defensive scoring effort of the year.

Don Bosco quarterback Jake Hogan had two rushing touchdowns, passed for three scores and returned a kickoff 73 yards for another touchdown.

MMC (Marcus) 42, Newell-Fonda 38

NEWELL — MMC of Marcus (12-0) emerged victorious from a close game pairing undefeated squads from northwest Iowa. Newell-Fonda had won its previous six home games by an average of 54 points.

MMC quarterback Tanner Utesch completed 18 of 32 passes for 234 yard and three touchdowns.
