All-star meet

ANKENY — Creston’s Emily Wignall and Nodaway Valley’s Colton Graham competed in the 2012 Senior All-Star Cross Country Meet on the DMACC campus here Saturday, hosted by the Iowa Association of Track and Field Coaches.

Graham finished 59th overall out of 91 competitors in the boys race, running 17:29 over the 5K course. Graham was the eighth finisher out of 11 for the Southwest team.

Wignall, the 11th Creston runner to be selected to run in the event, finished 50th out of 71 finishers in the girls race, running 21:12 for the 5K course. Wignall was the sixth finisher out of nine for the Southwest team.

SWCC wins

OSKALOOSA — It was a successful debut for the Southwestern men’s team Monday in a 73-53 victory over William Penn JV.

Complete details will be published in Wednesday’s News Advertiser. The Spartans’ home opener is 7:30 p.m. Wednesday against North Central Missouri.
