Spartan men suffer big road loss

TRENTON, Mo. — The Southwestern Community College men’s basketball team dug itself a huge hole early during a 72-38 loss to North Central Missouri College here on Tuesday, as the Spartans drop to 3-3 for the season.

“I think it was evident by our first possession that we were not engaged and ready to win,” head coach Mike Holmes said. “We were mentally lethargic on both ends of the floor, and we will never win games here with that variable in existence.”

The Pirates held Southwestern to just 11 points in the first half of play, and held the Spartans to 4-of-23 shooting from 3-point.
