Accident

Alexander Daniel Chapman, 16, 106 N. Bureau St., was cited for failure to maintain control after an accident 8:18 p.m. Friday at South Park Street.

According to a Creston Police report, Chapman, driving a 2002 Pontiac south on South Park Street, had struck a utility pole and sheared it off after he lost control of his vehicle. Chapman stated he had been driving faster than the posted speed limit but was unsure of how fast he was actually driving at the time of the accident. Chapman and his passenger were transported by ambulance to Greater Regional Medical Center.

Damage estimates are $300 to the utility pole and $10,000 to Chapman’s vehicle.
