Creston

It is time to give you generous, caring people in Union County an update.

This year we have received four turkeys and four beef donations. We have bought ground meat, also.

Creston Christmas Basket Club has been very kind to us and paid for the meat processing charges for the last two years. This has been a big help. THANK YOU.

We use the donated money received by those who don’t have animals to donate a way to help, and this money is used to buy meat when the food pantries run out.

The families served each month varies; one food pantry reported 36 families in February and 72 in April. Each month is different. Remember those served are for extreme needs situations, not for an every month shopping trip.

I like to think that because the people in Union County know about Food for Life I was contacted by Iowa Select Farms inquiring about the needs of the food pantries in Union County. They made a very generous donation of boneless pork loins to each of the food pantries in Creston, Afton and Lorimor.

THANK YOU AGAIN THIS YEAR, as we have been every year since 1983, for your generous support to your neighbors in Union County.
