Homes at Van Buren Square available for viewing
MOUNT AYR — Built with local resources, two local families united to create Van Buren Square, an eight-unit housing development in Mount Ayr. Joe and Debbie Murphy and Kelly and Shirley Richards joined forces in 2011 to create the first-of-its-kind housing association for the county.
Located north of Highway 2 at the corners of Van Buren, Grand and Garfield, each free-standing, private residence features two bedrooms and two full baths and with unique exteriors – no two are alike. As a member of the association, homeowners will be relieved of many exterior work, such as snow removal, lawn care and all maintenance.
"We received an overwhelming response from the community that association living is needed in Mount Ayr," said Murphy. "The first two homes are built and available for viewing; we will complete the other six homes once owners are solidified. We are excited to share this option with our friends and family and even more proud for them to call it 'home'."
"We are excited to offer a home with high-end finishes at an affordable cost starting at $95 per square foot," said Richards, the homebuilder leading the project. "This is unmatched to other options in the area, and includes additional mobility features, such as no stairs throughout the house and wide hallways."
One-on-one showings have recently begun for those who previously expressed interest. An introductory offer is available now through Dec. 31. Serious inquiries can contact Debbie Murphy at 641-234-0077.
