Richard ‘Dick’ Kelly Creston

Richard W. Kelly, 84, of Creston died Nov. 26, 2012, at Crest Haven Care Centre.

Memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. The Rev. Ken Halbur will officiate. Burial will be private. Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25, Creston, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be left at

Richard Wattell Kelly, son of Marie Louise (Jungst) and Arthur Peter Kelly, was born Oct. 12, 1928, in Creston.

Dick graduated from Creston High School.

Dick served in the United States Air Force for six years.

After his honorable discharge, Dick worked as a mechanic with his father. He went on to own and operate Creston Amusement Company for many years. Later, Dick sold the business, but continued to operate it. He later worked for the Agency on Aging, delivering food to meal sites.

Dick was formerly a member of Crestmoor Golf and Country Club and Elks Lodge.

Dick is survived by his sister Janet Kelly of Creston; nephew Dan (wife Jackie) Davis of Tuscon, Ariz.; nieces, Barbara (husband Keith) Judd of Miami, Fla., and Michelle (husband Gary) Gustafson of Seattle, Wash., and several cousins.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; sister Joan Kelly Davis; brother-in-law Dan Davis and two nieces.
