Spartan upset bid fades in second half
COUNCIL BLUFFS — The Iowa Western men won their school-record 13th straight game Saturday, but not before Southwestern put up a good fight.
The Spartans (4-6) led 21-13 at halftime over the undefeated Reivers, who gained control with a 38-point second half.
“We had a poor shooting performance,” said Iowa Western coach Jim Morris. “We shot only 23 percent from the floor for the first half and we will have to better that to win our games. It was a lucky win.”
