Boosters meet

Creston Activities Booster Club will meet 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the CHS commons.

Agenda includes discussion of Dec. 22 Express youth wrestling tournament, clothing report and ad for holiday sales.

Hitting camp

The 2012 Southwestern Community College Winter Hitting Camp for grades 3-12 will be held Dec. 26-28 in the SWCC Student Center gymnasium.

Session I each day will be 9 a.m. to noon for grades 3-6. Cost is $75. Session II each day will be 1 to 4 p.m. for grades 7-12. Cost is $75. Campers are instructed to bring their own bat.

Camp director and chief instructor is SWCC athletic director Bill Krejci, longtime SWCC baseball coach who has also coached five USA Baseball national teams in the World Games.

The instruction staff in addition to Krejci will include present and former players from Southwestern, alongwith local high school coaches.

Men’s basketball

Registration for men’s basketball league, sponsored by Creston Park and Recreation Department, will be held through Dec. 21.

Entry fee is $150 per team. Teams not registered by 4 p.m. Dec. 21 will not be allowed to play. Forms are available in the Park and Rec office, room 104, restored Creston Depot.
