From Julie Lang
Last week seemed to be the week for catching talent at CHS. I always love to go to the winter concert and was absolutely amazed at the talent at our high school. From the ninth-grade saxophone soloist (Annette Reasoner), to the drum duet by Adam Bochart and Logan Angelo, to everything before, after and in between. I was just excited to see vocal and instrumental talent at that level coming from our school.
In general, it is so much fun to see new things being implemented like the drumline or the "Salts" being added to the "Peppers." Innovative ideas which can utilize the talents of our students is a great way to keep them involved and broaden the horizons of CHS.
As far as the community, Joyful Noise arranged another nice concert with an excellent trumpet player. Lots of little local dancers have been in the production of "The Nutcracker" in Des Moines, and of course, it was way exciting to see our boys beat the Harlan basketball team on Friday night.
If you have the opportunity to catch some of the events please do. It is so rewarding to come from a community where so many different activities and talents are being shared. The reason for the season is behind those talents, and we have much to be thankful for in Creston, Iowa. Merry "Christ"mas.
