SNOW DAY
Storm dumps about 5 inches of snow; all schools in Creston News Advertiser area cancel classes
This storm had it all.
Rain, sleet, snow and even lightning and thunder were reported in the snowstorm that swept through Iowa last night and early this morning, dumping about 5 inches of fresh snow in Creston.
And, howling winds this morning reaching 30 mph with gusts near 50 mph stirred it all up, causing sizeable snow drifts on city and country roads. Those early morning conditions forced every school in the Creston News Advertiser area to cancel classes.
