The Red Can Challenge is to eat meals at the table for three days.

Lola Baucom is to have the program next week. The meeting adjourned with the closing TOPS pledge.

Eight members were in attendance at TOPS 1338 5:30 p.m. Dec. 17. The weekly best loser was Marisue Lewis and runner-up was Neoma Davis. The business meeting opened with the TOPS pledge. Reports from the secretary and treasurer were received.

It was decided to have a March salad supper rather than a Christmas celebaration.

Squares was won by Anna Thompson and fines went to Lewis. There will be only a weigh in but no regular meeting Dec. 31.

The Red Can Challenge is to have an egg as a good source of vitamin A this week.

Diana Loomis read an article titled “Sneaky Supermarket Traps.”

The topic for Jan. 7 will be given by Monica Belew.

TOPS 1338 would like to have anyone with New Year’s resolutions to lose weight to join the support group 5 p.m. Mondays at the First United Methodist Church.

Mary Circle

Mary Circle of First Christian Church met Dec. 21 at the home of Margaret Wilkins. Ten members were present.

President Pat Fils called the meeting to order with the Disciple Women prayer.

Secretary and treasurer’s reports were read and approved.

Old business discussed was December bulletin delivery.

Instead of the lesson from “Bad Girls of the Bible,” hostess Margaret Wilkins read several Christmas traditions, along with why Christmas is celebrated on Dec. 25.

The meeting was adjourned. The hostess served refreshments.

The next meeting will be 2 p.m. Jan. 17 at First Christian Church with Barbara Lightner as hostess.
